Spieljochbahn
The Spieljochbahn is the way up into the mountains! In winter, this is where you go to ski or snowboard. In summer, there's a host of other adventures in store. Here you can climb, hike, barefoot, ride monster scooters down the mountain, try the cable car, be a miner for a day or just enjoy nature.
Reintaler See
Visit the swimming lake, Reintaler See, where you can go for a swim or just enjoy the stunning surroundings. There are restaurants and cafés around the lake.
Tratzberg Castle
Tratzberg Castle or Schloss Tratzberg is located in the town of Jenbach, where in the 13th century it served as a stronghold on the border with the then independent state of Bavaria.
The castle has a long history, but today it is very well preserved and is recognised as one of the most important Austrian cultural monuments.
Silver mine
Discover an old-fashioned mine and how copper and silver were mined 500 years ago. Back then, Tyrol became one of Europe's richest regions, as the town of Schwaz accounted for 85% of the world's silver production. The mine is called the mother of all mountain mines and you can take the mine carriage 800 metres down into the mountain and feel the special atmosphere.
AirRofan
AirRofan is the place to go if you want to experience the great outdoors in a different way, and if you need an adrenaline rush.
AirRofan is a sky-glider, gliding over 200 metres through the air from the Gschöllkopf mountain at 80 kilometres per hour. From the ride there is a fantastic view over the lake Achensee. If you prefer not to go on the flight, there is the Adlerhost lookout.
Crimson waterfalls
Krimml Waterfalls are the tallest in Austria, plunging a total of 380 meters in three dramatic tiers. Set in the heart of Hohe Tauern National Park, the falls are easily accessible via a well-maintained path with several viewing platforms offering impressive photo stops. Families can also visit the nearby “Water Worlds” exhibition, which combines fun and education about the power of water.
Kufstein
Kufstein is a picturesque town on the River Inn, framed by mountain peaks and rich in Tyrolean charm. Its main landmark, the medieval Kufstein Fortress, towers above the old town and offers sweeping views and historical exhibits. Down below, cobbled streets, traditional cafés, and boutique shops invite relaxed strolls. The town’s location makes it ideal for day trips into the Kaiser Mountains or boat rides along the river.
Ambras-Slot
Ambras Castle is set in sprawling English gardens high above Innsbruck. The building houses Europe's oldest museum, including weapons and armor, art and books. It also houses the Habsburg Portrait Gallery with works by Titian, Van Dyck and Velásquez.
Innsbruck
The town is known as the "capital of the Alps" as it is the perfect destination for skiing and snowboarding in winter, and mountaineering and hiking in summer. The town itself offers countless sporting activities all year round, and has a beautiful town centre with historic buildings and an extremely friendly atmosphere. The town is surrounded by impressive mountains.
The old town dates back to the Middle Ages and still consists of a number of charming medieval houses. Facing the central square is the Golden Roof, built as the residence of the Tyrolean kings and queens in the 15th century. From here they could watch the tournaments in the town square without leaving their palaces. The Golden Roof itself is a balcony covered with almost 3,000 copper roof tiles.
The Imperial Palace is built in the late Gothic style and dates back to 1460. The palace consists of four wings around a gigantic hall in the middle (Riesensaal), which is beautifully painted in white and gold and is well worth a visit on a mini break or ski holiday to Austria!
Hexenwasser
Hexenwasser is an amusement park with water for the eyes! Here, especially the little ones can experience all kinds of water experiences! One thing's for sure - it's going to be fun!
