Everything was really good :-)
Just a tiny little detail... The juice in the otherwise nice breakfast buffet was unfortunately lukewarm both mornings :-)

Small but okay if you're young. My wife and I are 60+, not fun to be on the inside. We had to crawl. 😉

Super delicious hotel, it was very clean and the breakfast was really nice with a huge selection. The only small downside of the hotel was that the staff didn't speak Danish but only English, this might cause some problems for some. But for us, it didn't matter, the staff was smiling, helpful, etc. all in all a good experience and we will go there again.

Carlsberg Glyptotek
The Glyptotek in the centre of Copenhagen exhibits an impressive collection of antique art and works from the 19th and 20th centuries in magnificent surroundings. The museum was founded by brewer Carl Jacobsen (1842-1914). The Glyptotek's permanent collection contains around 10,000 works of art divided into two main collections. Discover one of Copenhagen's cultural gems and enjoy refreshments in the Glyptotek's café.
The National Museum
A trip to the National Museum is always a great experience, and here you can follow the history of Denmark, from the Ice Age up to today's society. The National Museum is housed in the Prince's Palace, built in the mid-1800s, and some of the very beautiful halls still stand as they did when the royals had their daily routine in the mansion.
The permanent exhibition on Denmark's Antiquity includes the Grundestrup vessels and other Viking treasures. You can also see the Egtved Girl and the Huldremose Woman, who met a terrible fate. The National Museum also houses the world's largest collection of artefacts from Greenland and boasts a world-class ethnographic collection, complemented by a Toy Museum and the large Coin and Medal Collection. A few educational hours can easily be spent here and the museum also organises plenty of activities for the children, so everyone is guaranteed good entertainment among the many treasures and Danefæ.
Fisketorvet
Take a city break in Copenhagen and visit Fisketorvet, one of Denmark's largest shopping centres with a unique location in the capital right by the water. Here you will find many exciting shops with high class fashion as well as a cinema with Scandinavia's largest screen. The centre hosts regular events and activities, and there are restaurants to suit all tastes. Find a weekend break or a mini holiday to Copenhagen at Risskov and go on a self-drive experience in the capital, and don't forget to stop by Fisketovet.
Copenhagen
Try a car holiday in Denmark and discover the capital Copenhagen at your own pace on a family self-drive holiday. There's plenty to see, so be sure to arrange a cheap hotel stay with us beforehand. Then you can get started exploring the Danish capital. Firstly, make sure you stop by one of Denmark's landmarks; The Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid is the biggest tourist attraction in Denmark and one of the most photographed statues in the world. Walking past Amalienborg is also a must on your trip to Copenhagen. Christiansborg, the Round Tower and Rosenborg are among other sights to pass by. Of course, you should also take a stroll along Strøget, which starts at Rådhuspladsen and continues down to Kongens Nytorv. Here, shopping opportunities abound. If you continue across Kongens Nytorv, you'll come to Nyhavn. Nyhavn is at once modern Copenhagen's most popular and vibrant meeting place and an attraction of historical importance. It is also possible to find cheap weekend breaks at Risskov, so take a summer or winter break and experience a self-drive holiday in the capital.
The Royal Stables
The Royal Stables and the Riding Arena are the only remains of Christian VI's Baroque castle to have survived both castle fires, which burned and devastated most of the castle twice. At one time there were over 250 horses stabled here, but today there are only 20 left, which are used when the Queen's Golden Carriage is hitched up for the grand celebrations held by the Royal Family. In the Royal Stables' Harness Museum, visitors can see the carriages used by past kings and queens. The oldest carriage is Queen Juliane Marie's state carriage from around 1778. Christian V's favourite horse from 1600 was stuffed and can also be seen in the stables together with Frederik VII's horse, Perlen, which also suffered the same fate, stuffing. Discover the old stables and the riding arena behind Christiansborg.
Kødbyen, Copenhagen
Go on a self-drive holiday to Copenhagen and discover the Danish capital with the whole family. Visit Kødbyen, located in Vesterbro, which has become a very popular place to go out in Copenhagen. Here you'll find art galleries, nightclubs and restaurants alongside a few butcher's shops. For many decades the whole area has been the base for the meat industry, divided according to the colours of the buildings, the White, the Grey and the Brown Meat Town. Today it is an area teeming with life and happy days, popular with all ages and it is almost impossible not to have a great and enjoyable day or evening in the meat city's long range of options. Find child-friendly hotels in the area and holiday in your own car in Copenhagen.
