Oberstaufen

The village of Oberstaufen is surrounded by fragrant green meadows, rolling hills and impressive mountains - a true fairyland near Lake Constance in southern Germany.

Visit the Alpsee Bergwelt and the scenic lakeside area, which offers fun for children and adults alike. Here you will find the Alpsee Coaster, Germany's longest roller coaster. The roller coaster is more than 3000 metres long and takes you from the lift station at the top of the mountain all the way down to the foot of the mountain. The ride takes 5-10 minutes. Alpsee Bergwelt also offers a climbing park and a playground for children.

Bregenz

Bregenz is a compact city with big appeal nestled between Lake Constance and the Alps. Each summer, the world-famous Bregenz Festival unfolds on an opera stage floating on the lake—dramatic backdrops and star-studded performances make it a cultural highlight. For modern art fans, the Peter Zumthor–designed Kunsthaus Bregenz presents ever-changing exhibitions in a sleek building that’s a work of art itself. Step back in time in the upper town, where the onion-domed Martinsturm offers sweeping views and medieval frescoes. A cable car ride up Pfänder Mountain takes you to panoramic trails and an alpine wildlife park—look out for vistas over Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and the Alps.

Lake Constance

Lake Constance is a popular destination, and not without reason. First of all, it's a great summer destination if you like sailing, windsurfing and swimming. But a trip around the lake, some 260 km, by bike is what attracts many enthusiasts. The cycle routes are some of the most beautiful in Europe and you'll have the chance to experience stunning scenery with snow-capped mountain peaks, charming towns and lots of exciting culture if you choose the Bodensee-Radweg cycle path.

In fact, people lived on the shores of the lake centuries before the birth of Christ. The beautiful southern climate is ideal for growing a wide variety of vegetables and wine, and it also leaves its mark on the landscape.

The lake is probably most famous because it borders three countries: Germany, Austria and Switzerland. There are many beautiful towns on the lake. One of them is Reichenau, known for its beautiful monastery, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Another lovely town is Mainau which is known for its beautiful weather and floral splendour.

Along the shores of the lake are several good places where you can swim in the water.
