The family-run Austbø Hotell is located in the Norwegian
village of Rauland, just southeast of Hardangervidda National Park, and offers
base for a stay with plenty of exciting opportunities and activities
whatever the season.

This cosy and family-friendly hotel is the former 'Camp
Vierli', and offers a relaxed and informal atmosphere with
personal service. Here you will find a perfect base for a holiday with endless possibilities, both in summer and winter.
In summer, the stunning surrounding nature invites you to
hiking and cycling, and just 200 metres from the hotel you will also find a large
sandy beach. The hotel offers canoes and SUP paddleboards for hire. You can also find several museums and attractions within a short distance, such as
Vemork (Norwegian Industrial Workers' Museum), West Telemark Museum and Eidsborg
Stave Church. You can also relax in the hotel's lovely outdoor
area, where there are sofa groups, a table tennis table and
sun loungers.
In winter you can enjoy the hotel's excellent location
between two ski centres - it's only about 5 km to both, and here you'll find unique slopes and other fun winter activities. The area is perfect for cross-country skiing, the nearest trails start right next to the hotel and you can rent skis at the hotel.
Inside the hotel you will find a TV lounge with Playstation and
games, and several cosy seating areas, perfect for relaxing between
adventures.
Start your day with a delicious breakfast in the hotel's
cosy surroundings. The stay also includes coffee and tea. In the evening you can enjoy
a tasty dinner in warm surroundings.

Vierli ski centre

You can also see tools made from reindeer bones more than 17,000 years ago, found in southern France. In the research and management section, you can see how work is being done to protect this unique species.
Dog sledding in Tjønndalen
