Sunne

Take a short break or an extended stay with Risskov and visit beautiful Värmland. Stop by Sunne, where Selma Lagerlöf once lived and worked as a writer. Her childhood home, Mårbacka, is now open to visitors and guided tours are also available. You can also visit several of the manor houses Selma Lagerlöf wrote about.
There are also other interesting places you can visit in Sunne. Rottneros Parke is a lovely and thriving cultural park or stop by Teaterbiografen, one of Sweden's oldest cinemas. The kids will probably like a trip to the Sundsbergsgård Farm Museum and of course a trip to Sunne Sommarland will also be among the favourites. You can also take a trip on the steamboat Ferja at Fryken or just relax and enjoy the beautiful views from Tosseberg gorge or Klövberget.
The nature around Sunne is characterised by large forests and beautiful open landscapes, which also provide opportunities for wonderful nature experiences on the hiking trails in the area. There are shorter and longer walks of various lengths, from 2 km up to 17 km. During Sunnes Hiking Week, guided group tours are organised that also pass by some of Sunnes' historical areas.
