Take a self-drive holiday to the North Sea and experience the roaring sea and some of Denmark's best beaches. The North Sea stretches from the West Jutland coast up to Hanstholm and west to the British Isles.
More and more Danes choose to take a weekend break at the North Sea, which is an obvious destination for both active holidays and beach holidays, where you can relax in the soft sand dunes.
It is an ideal destination in summer, but also in autumn and winter, when nature shows its rougher side. Here you can hunt for amber - also known as "Danish gold".
The abundance of edible fish in the North Sea has always made it a major workplace for Denmark's fisheries, while more recently it has also become a playground for surfers, yachtsmen and bathers from home and abroad.
Many surfing enthusiasts head for Klitmøller "Cold Hawai", while other bathers want to enjoy the dunes in areas such as Spidsbjerg, Søndervig, Slettestrand, Løkken, Thyborøn, Skallerup or Blokhus.
