Zoos in Sweden

Take a trip to one of Bohuslän's most popular attractions. Nordens Ark is a zoo with more than 80 of the world's endangered animals. The beautiful scenery and the opportunity to see animals such as wolves, snow leopards and the great Amur tiger make the park an ideal place for an outing where the whole family can have fun and enjoy themselves.

You can also visit Virum Älgpark, where you can meet the majestic animals up close in their natural environment. Take a safari tour around the beautiful surroundings and experience the impressive animal up close. The curious moose will often come and greet you so you can pet and hand-feed them. In addition to the amazing moose, the park is also home to a tribe of fallow deer with a population of between 10 and 15. Round off the day with a walk in the lodge where there is a café and souvenir shop.

Norway is more than a winter holiday, go on a cheap holiday to Hunneberg, Norway in summer instead and go on a tour with a certified nature guide and come on a fantastic Beaver Safari in the Ecopark, where the beaver life in Hunneberg can be observed. Borås Animal Park is located just a few kilometres from the centre of Borås and a visit to the park is always a wonderful experience for animal lovers. In the zoo you can get close to everything from African animals to Nordic wildlife. Visit the majestic elephants, the bushy monkeys, the king of the forest, the moose, or the European lynx.

Stop by the dinosaurs in Dinopark, or fire up Simbaland for a guided tour. A visit to Borås Zoo is a definite favourite with the kids and a fun experience for the whole family.

The zoo is usually open from the end of March to the end of September.

Järvzoo is located on the south side of Öjeberget in Järvsö, and here you can meet brown bears, wolves, lynxes, foxes and reindeer on your way around the park's three-kilometre wooden path. There are also several places along the way where you can take a break. The park is special in that it is not a traditional animal park; instead, the animals here live in their natural environment in the wild, undisturbed forest. The enclosures are large, which means that you sometimes have to be patient to get to see the different animals, but that's part of the experience, and it makes the joy all the greater when you suddenly spot, say, a wolf wandering around.

In Kungsbyn Animal Park you can meet 34 different species of animals from the world's wonderful nature. The zoo, located in the countryside, welcomes you for an exciting and educational day where you can learn about the different animals. Try a safari, for example, and get close to animals such as alpaca, fox, lemur and king boa. There are also a number of animals to feed, stroke and pet. The zoo also has a bistro where you can have lunch or refreshments. If you are bringing food, there are several pleasant picnic areas available. Dogs are also welcome at the zoo.
