Boat rides in Sweden

Visit the Swedish archipelago on a cheap summer holiday with Risskov and drive to Sweden with cheap hotel accommodation. Especially Kalmar archipelago offers many islands, islets and skerries. The most famous is "The Blue Virgin" which rises more than 80 metres above the water surface. Granite Island is a nature reserve and is uninhabited, but there is a stone labyrinth worth visiting. In the past, the Blue Virgin was believed to be the place where witches met on Holy Thursday. There are regular boat trips to the Blue Virgin from Oskarshamn. Also find cheap weekend breaks at Risskov if your holiday is not that long.

Find a cheap holiday in Sweden at Risskov and get away on adventures in Gothenburg. A great way to experience the city is to take a guided tour on the Paddan boats and see Gothenburg from the water. The Paddan boats are hop-on-hop-off boats that take you around the canal system and harbour. The boats are available in the warmer seasons, but there are also special departures around Christmas.

If you're staying in the area around the coastal and archipelago town of Nynäshamn, it's a good idea to take a boat trip. The M/S Flora will take you out into the stunning archipelago. The trip takes about two hours, but it is also possible to go on a full-day boat trip to the small, idyllic town of Trosa. Here you will have time to enjoy Trose, a typical Swedish summer town. The town was founded in the 1300s but was destroyed, like so many other Swedish towns, by the Russians. The town's wooden houses were burnt to the ground in 1719, and only the church remained. The wooden houses that stand today are old, but well maintained. After a stroll around the town and perhaps lunch, you can take the boat back.
