Lovely stay, but since the hotel is undergoing renovations, some of the spa area was closed off. The kitchen could have been a bit better, but the food was okay and the wine was really good.

Fantastic service at lunch and the restaurant in the evening. Staff from different parts of the world, but sooo friendly. Would have liked more than fish on the evening menu.

I would miss having a kettle in the room or a station, for example at the reception, where you could get a cup of coffee and not have to buy it in the restaurant all the time.

Some teething problems. Breakfast times are too rigidly controlled, forcing us to 7:30.

I recommend it even though they are currently undergoing renovations. We stayed over Sunday-Monday and had spa time on Sunday when it was a bit quieter and no renovation was taking place. We only noticed it on Monday.
The food was super good, the breakfast was magical.
We liked the spa area with outdoor pools, indoor pool, hot springs, different types of saunas. A somewhat smaller area than we usually visit but well worth a visit. We will go back again.

The spa was good. We had a three-course dinner that was absolutely wonderful. The staff presented the food nicely. The breakfast was very good, nice that you ordered the hot items in the kitchen nicely presented. Positive that it included lunch at Dan's bakery. Nice environment and tasted very good /Ing-Marie

There are also many family activities at the museum, and in summer there are guided tours that show how life was at the fortress.
Varberg Fortress was built by the Danish Duke Jakob Nielsen in the late 13th century. The fortress therefore bears witness to the close ties that existed between Denmark and Sweden even then. In the early 1600s, the Danish king, Christian IV, rebuilt the fortress into a more modern defence system.

Old town in Falkenberg
Falkenberg is an old town with roots in the early Middle Ages. Along the banks of the River Ätran, the town grew with Storgatan as its first street, and St. Laurentil Church was built as the town centre. The school, town hall, vicarage and square were all located near the church. This part of the city is now called the Old Town and also consists of beautiful wooden houses from the 19th century. In one of the old wooden houses you will find the Falkenberg County Museum. Here you can experience the development of the town from its early beginnings to the beginning of the 20th century through their beautiful, extensive collection.
