Falkenberg
Falkenberg is a charming town with 25,000 inhabitants, where the oldest buildings date back to the 13th century. In summer, the town buzzes with activity, but the rest of the year can also be a pleasant experience. Many of the houses in the town are painted in cheerful colours.
Old town in Falkenberg
Falkenberg is an old town with roots in the early Middle Ages. Along the banks of the River Ätran, the town grew with Storgatan as its first street, and St. Laurentil Church was built as the town centre. The school, town hall, vicarage and square were all located near the church. This part of the city is now called the Old Town and also consists of beautiful wooden houses from the 19th century. In one of the old wooden houses you will find the Falkenberg County Museum. Here you can experience the development of the town from its early beginnings to the beginning of the 20th century through their beautiful, extensive collection.
Skrea Strand
In Falkenberg there are over 13 kilometres of sand beaches and another 40 kilometres of rocky beaches. The largest and most popular beach is the 2 kilometer long Skrea Strand, where you'll find a number of small restaurants and kiosks along the coast. The bathing huts on the beach date back to the early 1930s.
