Going

The beautiful town of Going is enveloped by the Kitzbühel Alps to the south and the Wilder Kaiser mountain range to the north. Going is 795 metres above sea level and 19 km from the hotel. Going's idyllic location includes the hamlets of Schwendt, Aschau, Prama, Sonnseite and Schattseite. When the town was first mentioned in the 12th century it was under the name "Gouwingen". Today Going is extremely popular, not least for the impressive mountain panorama.

The most beautiful natural lake for bathing in Tyrol is the bathing lake in Going. It gets its water from the natural spring of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range. The water temperature reaches a pleasant 24 degrees and besides the white sand, there is also an adventure playground and the largest beach volleyball area in western Austria.

Further highlights of nature are the Schleier waterfall, which is a mecca for extreme hikers as well as the Hintersteiner lake.

Going is, thanks to the "Stanglwirt" a well-known town. The "Stanglwirt" celebrated its 400th birthday in 2009 and thanks to this bio and wellness hotel Going has become a well-known town. In 2009, "Skiresort Service International" crowned a top resort. Around 70 ski resorts in 8 countries were tested. The winner was Brixental in the Wilder Kaiser ski area.

Familienland Pillersee

Located in the Pillersee Valley of Tirol, Familienland Pillersee (also called Erlebnispark Familienland) is a lively outdoor and indoor amusement park designed for families and kids of all ages. With more than 50 attractions—including Austria’s tallest family roller coaster, a wave-flier swing ride, gentle rides like the wild raft and pirate boats, plus a petting zoo—it offers nonstop play and entertainment. On rainy days, kids can dive into the indoor climbing hall and arcade, while adults unwind in the on-site salt cave. Set against the backdrop of the Kitzbühel Alps and easily accessible from towns like Fieberbrunn and St. Jakob in Haus, Familienland combines action, nature, and a friendly alpine atmosphere.

Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee Golf Club

Golfers at the Kitzbühel‑Schwarzsee Golf Club play an 18‑hole championship course set against the Tyrolean Alps, offering breathtaking views of Kitzbühel Horn and the Wilder Kaiser. The first nine holes are flat with water hazards and generous fairways, while the back nine rise through hilly terrain—featuring the famous Par‑3 “Mausefalle” hole that crosses a small ravine. A covered driving range and PGA‑certified golf school make it easy to practice or improve your swing, rain or shine. After your round, relax on the sun terrace of the clubhouse restaurant, offering panoramic views and Tyrolean cuisine..

Kitzbühel Horn

The Kitzbüheler Horn rises above the town of Kitzbühel and offers one of the best panoramic views in the Austrian Alps. A cable car ride takes you close to the 1,996-metre summit, where well-marked trails, benches and alpine huts invite visitors to take in the landscape at a relaxed pace. In summer, the area is a favourite for hiking, mountain biking, and visiting the Alpine Flower Garden, which blooms with hundreds of alpine species. On clear days, you can see all the way to the Großglockner and the Zillertal Alps.

Zell am See

The cosy resort of Zell am See is one of the most beautiful places in Austria, with a stunning location between Lake Zell and the Schmittenhöhe mountains. The small town is surrounded by high mountains and green hills. At the same time, the town is one of the cosiest, with many narrow streets in the centre where you can stroll and enjoy the atmosphere or sit in one of the many pavement cafés. The town square is lively and you can sit and watch the crowds.

Wilder Kaiser Nature Reserve

The Wilder Kaiser Nature Reserve is one of the most impressive mountain ranges in the Alps. Since 1963, the Kaiser mountains, consisting of the two main peaks Zahmer Kaiser and Wilder Kaiser and all their peaks, have been classified as a nature reserve to protect the rare plants and animals that live there and to preserve this magnificent mountain landscape.

Both the Tiroler Adlerweg (Eagle Trail), Tyrol's long-distance hiking trail, and the Jakobsweg (Way of St James), one of the world's most famous pilgrimage routes, lead you through the Wilder Kaiser mountains. The Wilder Kaiser region is known worldwide for its challenging hikes and climbing trails suitable for all levels.

Aurach Game Park

At the Aurach Wildlife Park, which is a whopping 1100 metres above sea level, you can get up close and personal with tame and curious animals such as roe deer, goats, donkeys and sheep. The park also has more exotic animals such as monkeys, kangaroos, llamas and Tibetan yaks, which you can observe from a safe distance. The many tame animals and the many square metres of nature and play areas make the park a popular destination for families with children.

Brixen im Thale

Brixen im Thale is an inviting alpine village at 800 m, nestled in Tirol’s Brixental valley, just 12 km from Kitzbühel. In summer, the Hochbrixen gondola whisks you up to 1,300 m, where the Filzalmsee lakeside adventure park awaits—complete with water play areas, themed giant sculptures, Kneipp pools, and easy family trails. A new viewing platform at the Zinsbergbahn mountain station offers sweeping vistas across the valley and mountain peaks, accessible even to non-skiers. In winter, Brixen becomes a key hub in Austria’s largest ski region—SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser–Brixental—with almost 300 km of slopes, beginner lifts, family ski areas in Hochbrixen, and even an igloo village-themed lounge.

Kufstein

Kufstein is a picturesque town on the River Inn, framed by mountain peaks and rich in Tyrolean charm. Its main landmark, the medieval Kufstein Fortress, towers above the old town and offers sweeping views and historical exhibits. Down below, cobbled streets, traditional cafés, and boutique shops invite relaxed strolls. The town’s location makes it ideal for day trips into the Kaiser Mountains or boat rides along the river.
