Remote High Bath

Tropicanaland is a water park in central Gävle for the whole family, where you can swim both indoors and outdoors. In summer, the open-air pool is open with lawns and playgrounds, as well as several pools for young and old.

There is also a relax-spa area where up to 50 people can unwind. There's a sauna and steam room, as well as a section where you can read newspapers or just close your eyes.

It is open 365 days a year.

Swedish Prison Museum

Visit the museum with exhibits from two old prisons. The Swedish Prison Museum is centrally located next to Gävle Castle on the south side of the river. Travel back in time to public punishment in the basement from 1732, where some of the underground cells date back to the 1500s.

Here, too, you can see the new developments of the 19th century in the isolation of the condemned.

Hemlingby Open Air Area

Visit Hemlingby Outdoor Area - an oasis in the middle of Gävle, on winter or summer holiday north of Stockholm. Here you'll find Hemlingbybacken with a snow park, several cross-country ski trails, mountain bike trails, places to barbecue, cabins and a nature trail. The Gästrike path also passes through the area. In summer, the outdoor swimming pool is open below Hemlingbystugan, which has a café/restaurant, a small gym and a sauna.

For children there is a play area, various adventure trails, skiing and ice skating. In Hemlingbystugan you can rent equipment.

Mackmyra Whisky

Mackmyra whiskey village is situated near Gävle. At Mackmyra, they always strive to produce their whisky in the most modern, efficient and environmentally friendly way possible. The world's most climate-friendly distillery - completed in 2011 was built here. The gravity distillery is a 35-metre high building where the production process is carried out with the help of gravity. If you are interested in whisky making you can participate in a guided tour in the distillery and experience a whisky or a gin tasting. Also if you are hungry, you can have a meal in the restaurant. 

Furuvik Amusement Park

If you're in the neighbourhood, be sure to stop by Furuvik Amusement Park. Here you'll find activities for the whole family, cafés and restaurants.

Take a walk in the green and meet all the animals, visit the trade stalls, eat good food, cool off in the water park, get dizzy on the slide in the park's amusement park or enjoy a concert on a warm summer evening.
