The inn offers

If we dwell a little on the history behind the Storkroen in Rold Skov, it is quite curious to note that it was actually built with money from Marshall Aid, and was therefore considered to be an important economic promotion both for the region and Denmark as a whole. Another thing that should also be noted is the length of time the staff has worked at the hotel, with all employees having worked at Storkroen for an average of over 13 years. This is immediately apparent, both in the service and in the cosy and homely atmosphere. There is always help at the reception and since the inn is visited by a number of regulars, they can also be helpful with suggestions for good trips in the area or tell about their favorite destinations in northern Jutland.

The inn has an indoor swimming pool and sauna. In the "Roldningen" there is also a pool table and table football - so there are plenty of opportunities for family members to challenge each other. If you need something to read, the mini-library is always ready with a few good suggestions on the shelves, perhaps for a little bedtime reading or even a good crime novel to fall asleep to.

Rold StorKro also offers a range of outdoor activities. The inn rents out canoes (2) for sailing on Lindenborg Å, just 700 metres from the inn, and if you have enough strength in your arms, it's only 32 km rowing to Limfjorden, but remember that this also applies to the return trip. The inn also arranges guided hikes in Rold Skov and Rebild hills, ask at reception as there are several options. Adventure MiniGolf is a "real" golf course, although it has been shrunk down a bit so that it appears in miniature. But there are 18 holes, with different levels of difficulty, so there is also a little challenge waiting to be put in the hole, if mini golf could be of interest. Rold StorKro also has good and very advantageous agreements with six golf clubs in Himmerland and green-fee tickets can be picked up at reception, so it could hardly be easier. Rold Skov Golfklub is only 7 km from the inn, the rest is a little more spread out with Mariagerfjord Golfklub, Sebber Kloster and Aars Golfkub. Then there's Hobro Golf Club and Volstrup Golf Center, making for a great golf weekend with plenty of opportunities to try out the golf courses in northern Jutland.

Rooms

The lovely inn has 43 exquisite rooms, all with private bath and toilet, hairdryer, free WiFi, telephone, TV and radio. The rooms also have a small minibar with all the necessities that can now be expected in an "emergency". You will be accommodated in the hotel's smaller double rooms, some with two separate beds and some with a smaller double bed, which is 140 cm wide. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms.
