About the hotel
Since 1549, the traditional Landhotel Postgut has offered
guests to Obertauern, located southeast of Salzburg. The hotel
Alpine décor invites couples and families alike to relax and
and its location offers great opportunities for exploring the region.
The hotel has a large wellness area with saunas, steam bath and
infrared cabin.
Meals are enjoyed in the hotel's rustic restaurant, which offers
regional specialities in cosy surroundings. In good weather it is also
possible to enjoy your meal on the terrace.
There are many things to experience around the hotel, from
hiking, cycling and skiing in winter, to Mauterndorf Castle (8 km) and
of course, the main city, Salzburg (100 km). The stay includes a 'LungauCard',
which gives free entry to various museums and castles as well as free
use of most of the area's mountain railways.
It is possible to get free childcare on the farm, at
the hotel (1 day for a 3-night stay, 2 days for a 5-night stay and 3
days for a 7-night stay, including lunch).
Free parking is available at the hotel, and during
free wireless internet access during your stay.

We had a really lovely stay. The hotel is old, but there is atmosphere, superb service from really nice staff. Very clean and neat. This includes a card that gives free access or discounts to lifts, museums, water parks, and much more in the area. The best recommendations 🙂

Had a stay of 3 nights, and I am extremely satisfied with this country hotel. From arrival to departure, it was one of the best experiences I have had. The rooms don't get 5 stars because there wasn't a fridge, but we managed with the cooler box we brought along. The service gets all 5 stars because the staff was extremely accommodating and very friendly to talk to. They should definitely keep the chef they have because he makes some of the best Austrian food I have tasted. There can be no questioning the location. The hotel's placement was perfect in relation to the plans we had. And a plus is that they had a Lungau card, which gave free access to many exciting activities. If I have to say one negative thing, it is that they allow dogs in the restaurant. I can definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

We were surprised by the personal and welcoming reception we received upon arrival. It continued throughout the entire stay. There was an A4 page every morning in English with the day's weather forecast and offers in the area. You almost felt like part of the family.
