Old Uppsala
It's really worth taking the time to visit Gamla Uppsala, one of Scandinavia's strangest archaeological sites. Take a look at one of the three majestic royal burial mounds - Uppsala Högar - from the 500s, or at one of the largest burial grounds in Scandinavia and the remains of the cathedral, which was built in the 12th century.

Friluftsgården Alnäs
Here you'll find a scenic gem with outdoor activities for the whole family. Here you can have fun outdoors at Ekolns north beach just 15 minutes from Uppsala city center. You can rent canoes and rowing boats, play tennis, beach volleyball, basketball and football. And why not go rock climbing?
Sigtuna
You should take the time to visit Sigtuna. The town can trace its origins back to the 900s, and is considered to be Sweden's oldest town. The streets and houses are steeped in history and you can visit Sigtuna Museum to learn even more. There are plenty of small local shops selling everything from clothes to furniture and yarn.
In summer, you can stroll along the promenade and buy an ice cream cone at the harbour. In winter, marvel at the charming medieval building of Café Tant Brun while you warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee.
