Fehring
The small and cosy town is more like a city under the Mediterranean stars. Take a stroll past the main square, where you will find various small shops, pubs and cafés. Fehring also hosts a number of gastronomic and musical events, with a 'wine tasting crawl' in May and the Southeastern Styria Wine Day, which is in August, and finally there is Cider and Jazz in September.
Fürstenfeld
The town was founded in 1170 and was first a fortress, later gaining town status in 1215. Today Fürstenfeld is a cosy town where water and thermal springs also play an important role. The many fountains in the town centre help to focus attention on the most important things in town. Fürstenfeld is considered the capital of thermal baths, located in the heart of the state of Styria, and surrounded by no less than six other towns that also offer healing springs. Fürstenfeld is also known for being the site of probably the largest outdoor swimming pool in Europe.
The town has also become renowned over time for its rich selection of shops and speciality boutiques, small cafés and patisseries, where there is always a buzz of people either meeting or on their way, and Fürstenfeld also has its own special festival culture, involving both the Springwater Festival and the Wine Festival.
The good tradition of holding markets is also practiced in great style, so enjoy a sunny day in Fürstenfeld and feel the town's pleasant atmosphere.
Feldbach
The small and friendly town has a pleasant size and at the same time offers many of the things that are also expected to be on the repertoire of the larger cities. There are both cultural and sporting events and the culinary leaves nothing to be desired.
Feldbach is located in the middle of Styria and is especially known for the very colourful spire of the Feldbach church, which can be seen from a good distance and which is also a kind of symbol for the diversity that the town also stands for.
Visit the Tabor Museum, an old medieval fortress built in 1469 which also houses 12 different exciting exhibitions that tell about Styria from the Stone Age to the present.
Herb and rose garden in Söchau
Over 120 different roses and herbs grow in this beautiful park. As the herbs bloom at different times, you can enjoy a fantastic fragrance experience in the park throughout the summer. In the Witch's Garden you can see a large variety of poisonous plants, which can be fatal if ingested in large quantities. For the same reason, this part of the park can only be visited with a guide. The park also has a small café where you can enjoy a coffee and a shop where you can buy herbal products to take home. The park is open from April to October, but always check the updated opening times on the park's own website.
