Klatovy
Klatovy is a historic town located in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic, known for its well-preserved architecture and rich cultural heritage. Situated at the foot of the Šumava Mountains, Klatovy has a history dating back to the 13th century, when it was founded by King Přemysl Otakar II. The town is famous for its charming town square, surrounded by Renaissance and Baroque buildings, including the striking Klatovy Tower, which offers panoramic views of the area. The town is also home to the unique Black Tower, a 17th-century structure originally built as a watchtower, the beautiful Jesuit College, and the baroque pharmacy 'The White Unicorn', which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. . Klatovy is known for its traditional Czech atmosphere and the Klatovy catacombs, which house mummified remains of former townspeople. The town also serves as a gateway to the Šumava National Park, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald
A trip to the Bavarian Forest National Park is particularly recommendable. Here you can hike on a "tree crown road", which is built high above the crowns of the trees, where you will find various so-called experience stations along the way (e.g. viewing towers and information boards).

Plzen
Plzen is a city with a lot to offer! The city is located where four rivers meet. Here you will find the world-famous Pilsner Urquell brewery. At the brewery you can taste the beer directly at the restaurant "Na Spilce". This unique brewery museum is among the oldest of its kind and is visited by large numbers of tourists every year. The engineering company Skoda was also founded in Plzen in the mid-1800s. You can follow this important part of industrial development at the Skoda Museum, which gives an overview of the development of production.
But Plzen is not just an important industrial centre. The city also has a long and rich cultural history. Many architectural monuments bear witness to this. The medieval Church of St Bartholomew guards its famous Madonna and has the highest church tower, 103 m, in the Czech Republic. The Gothic buildings from 1392, which currently house the exhibition rooms of the Western Bohemia Gallery, were originally the meat market square. The oldest Central European armoury is part of the Museum of Western Bohemia. Plzen is also home to the third largest synagogue in the world. It was built in the 19th century in the Neo-Romanesque style with oriental touches.
