Nice manor, but the room we got was not suitable for 2 people. Very small. Otherwise, a cozy place with good food and good service.

Could use some ventilation in the bathroom, otherwise great

Highly recommended. Romantic surroundings, fantastic food, and professional staff. However, we had an issue with the room, but were immediately assigned another one.

About the hotel
If you have always dreamed of a vacation in beautiful surroundings and even in an exclusive setting, then Bramslevgaard is the right choice for you. The hotel is an old and beautiful manor house that has been modernized and adapted to receive and delight its guests with respect for the history and soul of the place.
About the hotel
At Bramslevgaard hotel you will find all the comfort that can be expected from a classic manor house stay. Add to this that Bramslevgaard has specialized in gastronomy and well-being in the form of a beautiful restaurant in the old stable. The hotel has a long history and this is evident from the moment you arrive at the old manor house. The style is classic with all the modern facilities you would expect from an exclusive manor house stay.
The hotel is located in the middle of Bramslev Bakker, which is why it is obvious during the manor stay to explore the beautiful terrain that surrounds the hotel. The hotel staff is familiar with the area and will be happy to help you find out which routes are best for exploring the surroundings.
The hotel is beautifully situated by Mariagerfjord, not far from nature and water. The beautiful market town of Hobro is about a 10-minute drive away. Get up close to the Danish Viking Age with a visit to the fortress Fyrkat from the end of the 900s. This is just a 20-minute drive from the hotel. Fyrkat is shrouded in mystery, and even today the purpose of the entire defense system is not fully known. In 2023, a large silver treasure was found not far from the fortress.
The idyllic fjord town of Mariager is also worth a visit. The town is known for its beautiful town center and its many hollyhocks, which is why it is also known as the city of roses. Other notable sights include the town's old church, which was originally built as a church and monastery.
Rooms
The manor house also has a high level of quality when it comes to the rooms and their comfort. The rooms are beautifully decorated with respect for the history of the place. Thus, all hotel rooms and apartments are equipped with private bathroom, flat-screen TV (with international channels) and free wireless internet. All rooms and apartments are non-smoking.

Fantastic stay in terms of food, staff, and surroundings. A small downside was the room, where there was a sloping wall above the bed. Therefore, it was difficult to sit in bed and watch TV, and there was only one chair in the room (and no space for more). Fortunately, it did not ruin the lovely stay and the wonderful surroundings. Would love to come again.

Back home after 3 wonderful days at and around Mariager Fjord - with beautiful nature - lovely drives and walks - especially in Bramslev Hills - and the visit to Mariager Salt Center - we are filled with delightful impressions. With 2 overnight stays at Bramslevgaard, where we experienced a very happy and smiling staff who were just ready. We were served 2 exquisite dinners where expectations were fully met and the service was very engaged - a whole and complete experience - thank you to you. Bramslevgaard is highly recommended.

Mariager Fjord
Go on a car holiday in Denmark and find a cheap hotel close to Mariager Fjord at Risskov. Mariager Fjord is also known as Denmark's Most Beautiful Fjord and the area around the fjord is full of great experiences. For example, discover the small, cosy fjord villages, each with its own unique charm. Visit the holiday village of Øster Hurup, which has Denmark's most child-friendly beach. An ideal destination for a summer holiday and family holiday in Denmark. Find a mini holiday or a cheap weekend break at Risskov and get away with the whole family on an adventure at Mariager.
Viking Centre Fyrkat
Go on a driving holiday in Denmark and discover the country's exciting history with Risskov. Find child-friendly hotels for a summer holiday, winter holiday or autumn holiday and set off on an adventure to Fyrkat, which was built around 980 under the Danish Viking King Harald Bluetooth. The castle no longer exists, but the ramparts that mark the town's size can still be seen. Behind the rampart 16 longhouses were built, which are today marked with white stones and just outside the rampart a faithful replica of a longhouse measuring almost 29 metres in length and built entirely of oak has been built.
The archaeological finds excavated around the castle and at the graves can be seen at Hobro Museum. Also visit the Viking farm, which with its nine houses and forge is a great man's farm as it looked when Harald Bluetooth was king. The Viking Centre Fyrkat has a lot to offer and is perfect for a family trip, even with the little ones. Plan the perfect family self-drive holiday and learn more about the exciting history of Denmark on the trip.
Rold Skov
Rold Skov is Denmark's largest forest. With its 8000 hectares, it offers plenty of experiences of various kinds. Of course, the forest offers a lot of nice hikes, for example around the lake Store Økssø. Rold Skov is a true mecca for MTB riders, as there are routes of varying difficulty and length. Horse riding in the vast forest is also popular. There is also a wonderful nature playground, Røverknolden, which invites you to play and have fun.
In the old days it could be quite dangerous to visit the place. Legendary robbers such as Bette Fanden, Long Ajes, Lorentz Nielsen and Petronillen kept a sharp eye on the inn, and when guests on their way home passed through Rold Skov, the robbers would strike. But thankfully the robberies in the forest are a thing of the past and today only the legend lives on, along with the beautiful statues commemorating the four robbers.
World map
Go on a cheap car holiday in Denmark and visit the World Map at Hobro. One day, some meadows were to be drained near Klejtrup Lake, south of Hobro, and a stone appeared that looked like Jutland. This prompted Søren Poulsen, a dancing cameraman, to build his own little world in the meadows. The new world was built between 1944 and 1969 and measures 45 x 90 metres. It was built by placing large stones on top of the frozen meadows and in the places where the worlds were to be. When the ice melted, the stones could be tilted into place with some difficulty. The equator is marked with red poles and the whole world map is reproduced with lakes, rivers and famous mountain ranges, so it's easy to send mum and dad to Australia, Borneo or Mount Everest if they want to. There's also an 18-hole mini-golf course on the World Map and in summer it's a great place to enjoy a sail in the Pacific Ocean, where even the little ones can join in, although there may be a few waves. Find a cheap summer holiday at Risskov and take the whole family on an adventure around the world on the 'World Map',
Thingbæk Lime Mines
The famous Thingbæk Limestone Mines opened to visitors in 1935 and is probably one of Denmark's most distinctive underground museums. It is here that Anders Bundgaard exhibits his plaster figures. Put on some warm clothes and start your journey into the dark and chilly mine galleries and enjoy the majestic limestone caves that seem to appear all of a sudden.
At Thingbæk Møllegaard, lime has been mined for several generations, but it was not until 1926 that a mine was actually established, where lime was mined until 1960. However, the unprofitable production of lime had to give way to market forces.
Rebild bakker
Rebild National Park is a large area of heather-clad hills. There's plenty of opportunity for a great day out in nature - there's something for everyone, whether you're into mountain biking or long walks.
