There are several shops around the city, so you have the opportunity to buy goods to take home from your trip to Norway. You can also go to a café, and generally experience the atmosphere of the charming town and see the fun and unique street art on many of the buildings.

In Flekkefjord you can play tennis, there is a swimming pool or you can take advantage of the excellent outdoor swimming facilities. Of course, you should also set aside time to just stroll around Flekkefjord and experience the Dutch Town, whose name originated when there was active trade with the Dutch in the years 1500-1600. The Friends of the Flekkefjord Railway are active campaigners for the old railway line from Sira to Flekkefjord. Here the club offers rail cycling, which is a very popular activity. Here you can cycle on the rails at your own pace and enjoy the spectacular scenery of the area. Rail cycling in Flekkefjord is open from April to October.

If you like to play golf, then you are definitely in the right place. Kvinesdal Golf Club's course at Skaren has been voted Norway's most beautiful golf course.

Rail cycling on the Flekkefjordsbanen

Discover the country's many sights and try a ride on a rail bike on the Flekkefjordbanen in Norway, which is both fun and a unique family experience. The ride starts in the centre of Flekkefjord, at the station, and during the ride you will pass 17 tunnels, beautiful scenery and a varied landscape. From Flekkefjord station to Bakkekleivi, which is the final stop, it is 17 km and it takes about 1.5 hours to 'cycle' to the finish.

The giant pots at Brufjell

The large giant pots on Brufjell were created during the ice age about 20,000 years ago when the sea level was also higher. The giant pots stand 20 metres above sea level in various sizes. Some are so big that you can climb into them. The sea has eroded most of the mountainside and to get to the Giant Pits take Road 44 (Nordsjön road) to Åna-Sira, and turn left at the sign "Roligheten". Continue down the small road towards the parking lot at the school. From the school the walk continues for about 2 km along the road. The whole route is marked so it's hard to go wrong. The walk continues towards Brufjellberget and usually takes an hour and a half. On the way you will also pass Sandviga beach, which can certainly seem inviting with its clear water and white stones. So bring your swimsuit if you want to cool off on a summer hike.

Nonskarknuden

On your car holiday to Norway, you can also go on a hike to Nonskarknuden in Kvinesdal and experience the beautiful nature up close. You can park your car at Egelandsmyra, from where it's a 1 hour and 15 minute walk to the top. From the top you can enjoy the fantastic view of the area. So don't forget to bring your camera! Lister Emigration Museum

At the Emigration Museum in Kvinesdal you can learn about the emigration from the Lister region, which took place from around 1850 to 1970. Here you will find exhibitions with photos, documents, newspaper articles and other objects that tell about the emigration and the Journey to America.
