Good value for money. Some noise from the highway if you sleep with the window open.

Visit Snow Dome
One of the major attractions in Bispingen is the 23,000 square metre 'Snow Dome', which boasts a 300 metre long ski slope. A great place to learn to ski, there is snow for both beginners and experts. There is also a 300-metre toboggan run, so everyone is guaranteed a lot of fun and speed in the snow.
Niederhaverbeck
Heath Park Soltau
If you're looking for a little wind in your hair and a tickle in your stomach while you're on summer holiday, we recommend a visit to Heide Park Soltau, the largest leisure and family park in northern Germany. Here you can feel the thrill of the giant roller coasters or get goose bumps when you visit the Transylvanian vampires. You can easily spend a whole day in the fun park.
That old house
Dat ole Huus is one of the oldest farms in the Lüneburger Heide nature reserve, and gives a unique impression of life on the Heidehof around the 1850s. People and animals lived here under one roof and cooking took place over an open fire. Also visit the sheepfold, which is no longer in use but is instead used as an exhibition space for changing exhibitions on the culture and landscape of the Lüneburger Heide all year round.
Barefoot Park Egestorf
Find child-friendly hotels close to Barfusspark Egestorf, just south of Hamburg in Germany. Here the whole family can enjoy a unique experience; discover nature in a different way and keep the well-being of your feet in focus. The approximately 14-hectare nature park offers 2.7 km of landscaped trails with 60 different obstacles made of natural materials, so plenty of opportunity for an active holiday and the park is the perfect place for a lovely walk. The park also has a small kiosk where you can buy refreshments. It is certainly set up for an active holiday in the beautiful park. Find a cheap hotel stay at Risskov and enjoy a real family holiday.
Lüneburger Heide Game Park
Wildpark Lüneburger Heide is one of Germany's largest zoos. Here you can see more than 1,200 animals, represented by 140 different animal species such as Siberian tigers, musk oxen, moose, bears and goats. The park has a wide variety of eateries where you can buy everything from simple dishes to fine dining experiences. You are also allowed to bring your own lunch into the zoo. Children will appreciate the park's huge playground with trampolines, suspension bridges, miniature radios and great climbing and balancing opportunities.
Bergen-Belsen
Go on a car holiday in Germany with Risskov. An excellent way to satisfy your curiosity, especially if you are interested in history. Then you can make a stop on the way to or from the hotel in Bergen-Belsen, which is located about 15 km northwest of Celle. The concentration camp held some 55,000 political prisoners who were slowly starved to death. It was also here that Anne Frank met her end, dying of typhus just a month before the camp was liberated by Allied troops in April 1945. Find cheap hotel accommodation in Bergen-Belsen and experience the grim past up close. A self-drive holiday opens up whole new possibilities, see if there's a last minute hotel at Risskov.
Hamburg
The metropolis of Hamburg has great shopping, museums and gastronomy. A great way to experience Hamburg is from the sea, by jumping on a canal cruise - but of course we also recommend Hamburg from the land side when on holiday by car! An experience in Hamburg beyond the classic city pleasures is a trip to the city's fish market, which sells fish of course, but also cheap clothes, houseplants and DVDs. The first stalls open at 5.30am in summer and 7am in winter.
Hamburg is Germany's second largest city and both economically and culturally the centre of the whole of northern Germany. It is seven times larger than Paris and more than twice the size of London. In short, this means that the city offers particularly good conditions for tourists. Hamburg is a beautiful city full of charming areas and, not least, an excellent nightlife that is unmissable on a city break or a self-drive holiday in northern Germany.
Christmas market in Lüneburg
O26th November to 30th December 2025
Open daily: 10.00-19.00 - You can visit the Christmas market's own website with current information
"Get into the perfect Christmas mood in Lüneburg. Throughout the year the city looks like a scene from the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales, but in December the city takes on an even more beautiful appearance with its lights and fairytale atmosphere. With experiences for young and old, Lüneburg's Christmas market is a surefire family favourite and a perfect one-day trip from Hamburg."
Lüneburg is famous for its old buildings and churches and at no other time of year does the city look more beautiful than December with its famous Christmas market. The Christmas programme offers plenty of entertainment and activities for adults and children alike. Amidst the smell of warm baked goods and tasty mulled wine, you can do your last Christmas shopping. Later in the evening you can enjoy local delicacies and a cold weissbier in true German style.
Lüneburg, and the surrounding area, can be experienced as a separate destination, but the Christmas market can also be experienced in conjunction with a trip to Hamburg, just 50 km away. Lüneburg is only half an hour away by train.
