Signesminde Kro offers a charming stay with a range of facilities to enhance any holiday. The hotel has a well-equipped kitchen and dining area designed to cater to both individual guests and groups.
Signesminde Kro, originally a farm, transformed into an inn by 1830, serving coffee and cake to passers-by. It became a traditional inn around 1900, initially named "Rødekro" and later named after the innkeeper Signe in the 1930s. After a fire in 1979, the inn was rebuilt, preserving its classic charm while integrating modern updates. Since October 2022, new management has aimed to combine culinary innovation with the inn's cherished cosy ambiance. The hotel restaurant specializes in a variety of dishes including pork tenderloin in paprika sauce, classic shrimp cocktail, and the inn's homemade pear dessert, all complemented by seasonal vegetables and sauces.
Signesminde Kro is located in an area filled with diverse attractions, ideal for guests eager to explore. The Silkeborg Eagle Reserve presents engaging Raptor Shows and a Bison Farm for wildlife enthusiasts. Historical experiences include rides on the steamer Hjejlen around Himmelbjerget. AQUA, the largest freshwater aquarium in Northern Europe, showcases extensive aquatic life. For those interested in culture, Museum Jorn and Museum Silkeborg offer insights into art and history, including the Tollund Man. Additionally, Badeanstalten anno 1920, situated beneath Silkeborg Library, provides a peek into historical bathing traditions.
Both room types at the hotel come with a patio, a private bathroom that includes a shower, toilet, and hairdryer. They have two single beds (90 x 200) that can be merged to form a larger bed. Amenities common to both rooms are a small desk, television, and WiFi access.
