Hotel Skansen Öland is beautifully located in Färjestaden, close to the Öland Bridge and Kalmar on the mainland. The hotel's location in the centre of Öland makes it the perfect base for exploring the whole island. The hotel is an oasis perfect for relaxing and here you will find an outdoor pool that is heated in summer and a spa area with sauna, indoor pool, 38 degree outdoor pool and treatments. With only a 5-minute walk to Kalmarsund, it is perfect if you want to swim in the sea.
About the hotel
Hotel Skansen is located in Färjestaden on Öland and not far from the Öland Bridge. It is a pleasant oasis perfect for a long weekend or mini holiday. Öland has a lot to offer from the special barren nature in the south, beautiful beaches and exciting windmills to historic buildings such as the castle ruins in Borgholm and the lighthouse Långe Jan on the southern tip of the island.
Set in a charming yellow-painted building, the hotel is all about relaxing and pampering yourself and each other. The hotel has its own spa area (for a fee) and in summer the outdoor pool at the main building is heated.
A delicious buffet breakfast is served every morning at the hotel, from 7:00 to 10:00 on weekdays and from 7:00 to 10:30 on weekends and public holidays.
The hotel's restaurant is open every day from 11:30 and serves dishes based on seasonal ingredients with a modern Nordic flavour. Great emphasis is also placed on serving drinks to match the seasonal menu. The hotel has Sweden's largest whisky cellar with over 1200 different varieties, something they are very proud of, and they also offer whisky tasting.
The hotel has free parking and during your stay you have access to free wireless internet and access to the hotel's gym.
Rooms
The hotel has 78 rooms of various sizes, all with parquet floors. The majority of rooms are around 22 square metres and have a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, TV and desk. Some rooms also have a sofa.
Pets are welcome in some rooms for a fee but must be pre-booked.

2-course dinner includes main course and dessert.
The spa is open Monday-Thursday, as well as Sunday from 9 am to 10 pm and Friday-Saturday from 9 am to 11 pm.
Spa treatments must be booked through the hotel and are possible from 9 am to 7 pm Monday - Thursday, and from 9 am to 8 pm Friday and Saturday and from 9 am to 6 pm on Sundays.
The spa area has children’s sessions every day from 09.00 to 13.00; these are for children under 13 who are out of nappies. Children over 13 are welcome when accompanied by an adult during normal opening hours.
The hotel will reserve a table for you in the restaurant at a certain time (5:15pm, 5:30pm, 5:45pm etc. every 15 minutes) between 5pm and 6:30pm. This can change but dinner is always served in this time window.
