The hotel was good and in a nice location on the quay. We had two nice days/nights at Amanda Hotel. Parking in the basement was somewhat expensive but okay. Regards, Svein

Nice hotel along the pier, smiling staff and friendly chef, but it could have been a bit cleaner in the lobby and elevator. Otherwise, tip-top thumbs up 😊

A really good place to be, with friendly staff!
Good food, with lots of delicious salads, seeds, nuts, etc., without overdoing it with too many dishes.
Beautiful location with a garden room facing the fjord!

We had a fantastic stay in Haugesund and the surrounding area. The city is beautiful, and the hotel has a truly great location facing the sound! It was an experience to sit and enjoy good meals in the cozy dining room right on the quay - with large windows so we could see and keep track of all the different larger and smaller boats that came and went. Delightful with a buffet - and good food. The rooms were nice with comfortable beds and interior (fun with all the references to and pictures from films in the Amanda city!) and we had a room on the 4th floor facing the sound, which was very lovely! An aesthetic and pleasant enjoyment from start to finish, and we would love to come back!!

It was a nice stay. We were welcomed very friendly and received the keys before the official check-in time. We got a nice, very large room with a view of the water. Everything was very clean, but the hotel's facilities are a bit outdated. The food was much better than many had rated. In the afternoon, there was a larger selection of cakes. Drinks were always available. For dinner, a buffet was served, which was decent. All in all, a successful stay. The garage had to be paid for separately.

Haugesund
Find a cheap mini holiday at Risskov and explore Norway. Visit Haugesund, located on the west coast of Norway between Bergen and Stavanger in the middle of the area where the Vikings united Norway into a kingdom. The town grew big and strong with, among other things, herring fishing and the beautiful harbour, where there was also shipbuilding. Today, the city is probably best known for its herring jazz and film festival, and it's also here that you'll find Norway's longest pedestrian street filled to the brim with great deals and opportunities to ooze. Not far from Haugesund is Avaldsnes, home to an exciting Viking museum that certainly deserves a visit. Haugesund is a charming town with a beautiful waterfront and plenty of opportunities to shop and enjoy gastronomy at the many restaurants. The surrounding countryside offers several hiking trails and everything you need for an active holiday.
Dokken Open Air Museum
Find a cheap summer holiday to Norway's West Coast and visit the Dokken Open Air Museum located on idyllic Hasseløy, better known as 'Bakarøynå'. Here you can see and experience the coastal houses as dwellings, herring ageing, butchers workshop, colonial shops and houses dating back to the herring period between 1850-1960. There is also an interesting photo exhibition 'Life between the houses' which gives quite a good insight into both religious and social life in the area. It's also interesting just to wander around the houses outside opening hours. There are child-friendly hotels in the area, find them at Risskov and have a great holiday with the whole family.
Haraldshaugen - Norway's Royal Monument
Find a cheap holiday at Risskov and discover the West Coast. Visit Haraldshauge, Norway's national monument.
In the last century, it was believed that it could be proved that it was this very burial mound that was described in Snorre's royal saga. It was here that the monument was erected in 1872, to commemorate the millennium of Harald Hairfagger's unification of Norway under one king into one kingdom. The monument was designed by architect Christian Christie, and is a large burial mound surrounded by a granite wall consisting of 29 building stones. Enjoy a cheap summer holiday or autumn holiday with Risskov and go exploring with the family and the car.
The Viking farm at Avaldsnes
Find a cheap holiday at Risskov and get away on adventures in Norway, and with child-friendly hotels. There's plenty to explore in our beautiful neighbouring country and not far from Harald Haarfagre's royal seat at Avaldsnes is Bukkøy, home to the exciting and lively Viking Farm. The Viking farm has been rebuilt from archaeological finds in Rogaland. Visit the Long House, Round House and Pit House. These historic surroundings give visitors an instant feeling of being back in the Viking Age. There are many activities going on, including crafts, so come along and meet the Norwegian Vikings. It is also possible to book guided tours. Come on a self-drive holiday where you set the pace. Summer holidays are perfect for a family road trip, so enquire at Risskov and enjoy an adventure-packed trip to Norway.
Sæbøtunet
Visit the authentic farm museum, Sæbøtunet, in Etnesjøe, and get an exciting insight into life and building traditions in the years between 1700 and 1800. Sæbøtunet is the largest authentic farm museum in Sunnhordland and offers a unique journey through time, where you can see old buildings, furniture, textiles and much more from this period. During a major renovation of the farm in 2006, a small amphitheatre was built, which has since been used extensively by schools, kindergartens and various organisations.
