Experience magnificent scenery, art and culture, cosy towns and Danish history on a self-drive holiday to Jutland

Jutland offers many exciting experiences for the whole family. Experience a summer holiday at Jutland's many lovely beaches or visit the roaring Wester Sea, the hilly landscape at Limfjorden, the beautiful lakes at Silkeborg or the unique Wadden Sea. Add to this a magnificent and varied landscape and many cultural and historical experiences and it is therefore not surprising that many people choose to visit this interesting part of Denmark every year.

Jutland is a true paradise for nature lovers. The beautiful landscape offers dramatic coastlines, wide sandy beaches, beautiful moors and vast forests, where every season has its charm. It's the ideal place for a family holiday and an obvious destination for the perfect self-drive holiday.

In North Jutland, you'll find sights such as art in Skagen, Grenen - Denmark's northernmost point, the Church of the Forsaken, the Råbjerg Mile hiking trail and Dronninglund Castle, as well as some of Denmark's best beaches and, of course, the roaring Wester Sea.

East Jutland, on the other hand, is known for its beautiful green nature. Here you can easily have an active holiday and go canoeing on Denmark's longest river, Gudenåen or explore Denmark's largest continuous forest area, Gludsted Skov south of Silkeborg. In Aarhus Bay, you can enjoy the salty fresh sea air along the kilometres of white and child-friendly sandy beaches, which invite you for pleasant walks in the sunset or for a swim in the summer.

Along the west coast of Southern Jutland lies the Wadden Sea National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the three beautiful Wadden Sea islands of Rømø, Fanø and Mandø. For the ultimate experience, visit the Wadden Sea Centre, where you can immerse yourself in the nature and wildlife of the Wadden Sea, for which the area is famous. But the border country also offers cosy towns like Tønder, Gråsten and Sønderborg, beautiful castles and fascinating Danish history.

In general, Jutland offers a wide range of outdoor activities and nature experiences for the whole family. Here you can hike in the countryside, or if you want to go faster, ride a mountain bike, run in the beautiful surroundings or surf the waves. There are plenty of opportunities for children to enjoy the fresh air and get close to the Danish nature.

But Jutland is much more than beautiful nature. You'll also find a wide range of attractions, cultural experiences and cosy towns. You can visit the idyllic market towns of Skagen, Ringkøbing or Ribe with their beautiful old houses and stroll around the cosy streets and shop in the small shops. The larger cities such as Aarhus, Aalborg and Skanderborg also have a lot to offer, in fact they have a bit of everything - green parks, art and culture, museums, cosy cafés, local food and restaurants and great shopping opportunities. In addition, there is a wide range of activities, markets and festivals all year round.

On a family holiday in your own car to Jutland, Fårup Sommerland, Legoland in Billund, Djurs Sommerland, Randers Regnskov and Givskud Zoo are also obvious destinations. Here the whole family can have fun and create some wonderful memories together.

On a self-drive holiday to Jutland, lots of exciting and fun experiences await you! Risskov has a wide range of self-drive holidays for you to choose from, whether you want a cosy family holiday or a romantic weekend break for two. So pack your car and go!
