In summer, you'll find a range of activities. For those who like nature and being active, a large number of well-marked hiking trails await you in the area, and for mountain bikers there are 500 km of signposted trails. If you're not into hilly terrain on your bike, there are plenty of options too. For example, take a bike ride on the 250 km Ennsradweg, which runs through the valley.
In winter, the town is a skier's paradise. The area with the centre of Ski Amadé offers, no less, 760 km of ski slopes with 270 modern ski lifts. You will also find 150 km of cross-country ski runs and an ice rink.
Historic Radstadt also has something to offer culture lovers as a member of the 'Historic Towns of Austria'. Several cultural and traditional festivals are held here, as well as arts and crafts markets.
Radstadt Golf Club
The Radstadt golf course is truly surrounded by magnificent nature and with incredible panoramic views. On one side the Radstädter Tauern with its sloping peaks is enthroned, and on the other side lies the Dachstein. Between the forests and overlooking the medieval town is an excellent 18-hole championship course with challenges of every kind. Try the beautiful mountain golf course and of course the famous 'Birdie Jet' between the 11th and 12th hole.
Therme Amadé Spa
Therme Amadé Spa is a 30,000 square metre water park with spa and wellness, surrounded by Altenmarkt's alpine landscape. There is an extensive range of sauna and aquatic experiences. Most of the pools are indoors, and then there are two outdoor pools that are connected. The pleasant water temperature makes the Herme Amadé Spa an ideal place to relax all year round.
The water is infused with medicinal salts from the famous salt mine at Bad Ischl. Most of the pools contain 1.5 - 2.5% salt water, which is known to have a positive effect on the skin.
Mandlberg
At nearly 980 m above sea level, Mandlberggut offers more than just views over the Dachstein‑Tauern: it’s a destination for local flavors and alpine tradition. ere, you can tour both the Latschenkiefer distillery (mountain pine oil) and the Dachstein distillery (whisky and schnapps), with guided tastings of house‑made liqueurs, brandies, jams, and even pine‑oil salves. Enjoy fresh wood‑oven bread with coffee or cake at the cozy Latschenstüberl, hosted by the welcoming Warter family. Mandlberggut is reachable via a scenic and accessible hike—known as the Mandling Trail—from Radstadt, or by bike on easy mountain paths offering views of the Enns valley and alpine forests.
