About the hotel

Hotel zur Erholung is a simple, family-run budget hotel located in quiet surroundings in Braunlage, close to the pedestrian area and the centre, as well as to nature and the Harz mountains. The history of the hotel building dates back to 1898, and is built in a traditional style typical of the Harz region.

Here you have an ideal starting point for a holiday in the Harz with experiences and excursions both in summer and winter. During a winter holiday here you can go tobogganing, skiing or snowboarding in the mountains at altitudes of up to 1,000 metres, and in the Harz Mountains with hiking or skiing tours. Enjoy cycling tours all year round. You have access to several of the area's hiking and cycling trails directly at the hotel. You can also go on exciting excursions in the Harz, such as the Brocken (Bloksbjerg), the Harz National Park, Wernigerode and Goslar.

Every day gets you off to a great start with a delicious breakfast in the hotel's cosy environment and in the evening you can enjoy a tasty 3-course dinner in the hotel's traditional restaurant, 'Winkelstube', which offers German cuisine.

Rooms

The hotel's rooms are spread over several buildings and there single rooms, double rooms and twin rooms with up to two extra beds. Some rooms are decorated in the traditional style (and may therefore appear rather old-fashioned) and can be booked for 2 + 2 (two adults and two children).
