The area around St. Anton am Arlberg is one of the snowiest winter sports areas in the Alps and in addition to being a great meeting place for ski enthusiasts, there are also many opportunities for an active summer holiday, with hikes in the mountains and many other exciting experiences.
In St. Anton am Arlberg, a network of hiking trails starts, for both beginners and more experienced hikers. The Austrian village in the Tyrolean Alps is considered to be the cradle of alpine skiing, and that it was here that modern skiing began. The slopes are easily accessible with lifts and cable cars, setting the scene for a solid ski holiday with the whole active family in St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria.
Lech
Lech is an international and very well-known winter sports resort on the Arlberg, which lies on the river of the same name in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg, and which in turn is directly adjacent to Tyrol. The beautiful area also covers Ebnit, Damüls and Mittelberg which belong to Vorarlberg Walser.
In summer, enjoy an active holiday with wonderful hikes and climb to the top of Valluga, 2809 metres above sea level, or to the Braunarlspitze, 2649 metres, which offers an incredible panoramic view of the mountainous landscape.

Bear country Sonnenkopf
Located high above Klösterle am Arlberg, Bearland at Sonnenkopf is a vibrant family adventure park at 1,800 m, easily reached via a scenic gondola ride. With more than 30 play stations, children can raft across the Bear Lake, explore the magical Bear Cave, and dig for “silver bears” in a playful treasure hunt. A new interactive Bear Path includes six themed stations offering educational insights about alpine bears, including their senses, diet, and the story of Bruno, Austria’s first returning bear.
Kaunergrat Nature Park
Visit Kaunergrat Nature Park and discover the unique fauna and flora of the high alpine landscape. In the park you may be lucky to see chipmunks, fallow deer, eagles and mountain goats, among others, and there are also 1100 different species of butterflies and 1200 ibexes, making it the largest herd in Austria. There are 84 mountain peaks in the nature park, which are over 3000 m high. The highest mountain in the nature park is the Watzespitze (3,532m). In the Kaunergrat Nature Park Centre you can get information about the area's animal and plant life and visit the exhibition 3,000 M VERTICAL, which takes you on an interactive tour through the nature park and shows what the place looked like in the Bronze Age and Roman times.
Alpine bath Montafon
Alpenbad Montafon is the region's largest open-air pool. In 2009, a generous natural bathing beach was opened with a non-swimming area, 50m swimming pools and a diving cliff as well as a 25m sports pool.
Another highlight for children of all ages, the adventure pool with fountain, stream channel, bubbles, double wave slides and 70m slide. There's also a generous toddlers' pool with a special mother-child area, beach baskets to relax in, a playground and a good beach volleyball court.
Stamserhaus Museum
Stamserhaus dates back more than 700 years and is believed to be the oldest farm in Tyrol. Over the years parts of the building have been destroyed, probably by fire, and later rebuilt. The house was mainly used as a tax office, where the peasants of the area had to pay taxes to the princes of Stams. Today the house is a museum, where you can see an exhibition of Christmas crabs. The world's oldest Christmas crib organisation, founded in 1860, is based in the town of Wenns, where the Stamserhaus is located. The exhibition includes over 40 different handmade Christmas cribs. The museum is usually open on Wednesdays and Sundays, but it is recommended that you check the opening times before your visit.
Montafon
Montafon is a 39 km long valley in the southwestern part of the Austrian province Vorarlberg. Throughout the Montafon region you will find many opportunities for outdoor activities. The area is particularly popular for hiking or cycling. If you are interested in mountain biking, you can enjoy the area's 860 km of marked cycling routes. In 2008, the Montafon was named Austria's 3rd best hiking area and the various theme routes are particularly popular.
Ötztaler Ache
Those of you who like water can take a trip on the Ötztaler Ache, where it is possible to river raft or kayak on the 35 km long river. If you look up towards the mountain peaks, you can often see the wahogs jumping off the cliff sides and paragliding down to the valley in their parachutes, every summer the sky is filled with parachutes in the colours of the rainbow and it is impressive to see the air between the mountains, being filled by these wahogs.
Raggal
The small mountain village of Raggal is located at an altitude of 1,000 metres in the Austrian region of Vorarlberg. Raggal is located in the Grosses Walsertal scenic area, where the focus is on sustainable tourism and energy. The concept here is to enjoy nature and utilise its glories without destroying it.
Lünersee
Lünersee is a stunning alpine lake located in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, near the border with Switzerland. Nestled at an altitude of 1,970 meters in the Rätikon mountain range, it is one of the largest natural mountain lakes in the Alps. Surrounded by dramatic peaks, Lünersee offers breathtaking panoramic views and a tranquil atmosphere, making it a favorite destination for hikers, nature lovers, and photographers. Visitors can enjoy scenic walking trails around the lake, mountain climbing routes, and opportunities for fishing. Accessible via the Lünerseebahn cable car, the lake combines alpine adventure with serene natural beauty, offering an unforgettable high-mountain experience.
Waldseilgarten Damüls
At the Waldseilgarten in Damüls you can climb between the trees. Here children and adults alike can have an active day by moving around on various obstacles high up. There is also a barbecue area, playground and beach volleyball court.
Damüls/Mellau
Damüls/Mellau, with 109 km of pistes and 29 ski lifts, is the largest in the area. The area offers easy slopes for beginners, demanding slopes for the advanced, deep snow/off-piste, ski routes, speed slopes (with speed measurement), burton snowpark for snowboard and freeski, skicross routes, ski school, winter hiking and cross-country skiing as well as numerous restaurants and huts.
Feldkirch
Visit the beautiful town of Feldkirch on the Ill River, a tributary of the Rhine. The town has a well-preserved old town centre that is very charming. It also has the beautiful Schattenburg Castle towering above it.
Mountain Beach, Montafon
You can also enjoy the good weather at the lakeside Mountain Beach outdoor pool, which consists of two bathing lakes with fresh spring water from the Montafon mountains. There are water slides, a cable car, a suspension bridge and a paddling pool for the youngest children. There is also a climbing pyramid, play houses and swings as well as a beach volleyball court, table tennis and beach bar - all surrounded by a large lawn where you can sunbathe in the good weather. The outdoor pool is open from June to August.
