The hotel needs a bit of maintenance as it looks quite worn. With a splash of paint and new carpets, they will have already come a long way.
Lovely hotel, located very centrally and easy to get to. The place is beautifully decorated in "the old premises", friendly staff and good breakfast.
The breakfast buffet was very good. Unfortunately, showers were only possible in the bathtub with a curtain. No anti-slip mat or similar available, also no grab handle.

Hotel DER Achtermann is a delightful first-class hotel with a wonderful 1,000 m² spa area, which can be used free of charge by hotel guests, with an indoor swimming pool and various types of saunas. Different types of treatments can also be booked, for example massages, as is proper when you are on a relaxing holiday. The hotel's restaurant, Altdeutsche Stuben, specialises in regional cuisine from the Harz Mountains and offers well-prepared food based on good ingredients. Summer weather permitting, snacks and drinks are also served on the hotel's Panorama Terrace.

Comfort rooms are decorated in warm colours with wooden furniture and a large work desk. A flat-screen TV, radio and minibar are provided, and all rooms have a modern en suite bathroom.
