About the hotel

The hotel building dates back to 1928 is great for both family holidays and active holidays. The hotel has a beautiful location on top of a hill in an uninhabited area, creating a special tranquillity.

Here you have the perfect starting point to experience the Rhön: A group of low mountains, which is part of the Mittelgebirge, and includes a UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve of around 185,000 hectares. In total, the area contains just around 6,000 km of hiking trails, making it extremely popular with hikers and nature lovers from near and far.

Close to the hotel, on top of the mountain 'Ellenbogen', lies the special viewing tower 'Noah's sail', which with its height of 21 meters, reaches up 830 metres above sea level. From here you have an absolutely panoramic view of the beautiful landscapes, and the slide for those of you with children on holiday. After an eventful day, you can relax in the hotel sauna, or enjoy refreshments on the terrace, or in the the beautiful Biergarten. There is also a small playground where children can have fun.

You will get a good start to the day with a nice breakfast in the cosy surroundings. In the evening, traditional dishes from both Hesse, Bavarian and Thuringian regional cuisine.

The hotel has 35 comfortable rooms, decorated in a newer and you can choose between single rooms and double rooms with with the possibility of booking the double rooms with an extra bed. Some of the rooms have a private balcony with a view.
