Vordingborg

Vordingborg is an old market town and also the main town of Vordingborg Municipality, which in turn belongs to the Region of Zealand. The town has close to 12,000 inhabitants and therefore has a bit more to offer than Nyråd. First of all, the ruins of the old royal castle, which was home to three generations of Valdemar kings, lie in the middle of the town. Visit the very interesting museum, the Goose Tower, which is also the town's trademark and the only one still standing fully preserved. Rønnebæksholm

Just outside Næstved lies the beautiful old manor, Rønnebæksholm. The estate has played a central role over the years for different owners and different purposes. Since 1994 the estate has been owned by the municipality of Næstved. In 1999 Næstved City Council approved the statutes of the Independent Institution Rønnebæksholm Art and Culture Centre. Their task is now to organise cultural events and to purchase art and sculptures for the collection. The park is open to the public and concerts, exhibitions, guided tours and lectures are held in the main building all year round. The park has also hosted opera and theatre events.

Faxe Kalkbrud

Faxe Kalkbrud is an exceptional landscape that stretches across an area of 2 sqm and consists of corals which are all of 63 million years old. In the area, you will also find Faxe Geomuseum where you can experience a great deal of intriguing history and go on a hunt for fossils in the limestone quarry.

Næstved

Næstved is an exciting trading town in the south of Zealand. The town was a religious centre in the Middle Ages and several monasteries were built. Today the town's landmark is Sct. Peders Kirke, which was built in the late 1200s. Today, there are also many exciting shops in the town, including Næstved Storcenter, which has more than 60 stores.

Danish Collector's Museum Thorsvang

Come and discover the museum that will never be complete. At the Danish Collector's Museum Thorsvang, the history of Denmark is continually conveyed through the countless objects, and as time passes, the story will continue. The museum offers everything from an old grocery store, bakery, blacksmith shop, heel bar and butcher to a uniform collection and toy shop - all with interiors and goods from "the good old days". Outside, allotments are laid out as they looked when Grandad was a boy.

Gavnø Castle

The grounds are more than 600 years old, and today they are a breathtaking adventure park for young and old alike. Zoopark

Do you like amazing animals and plenty of them? Then Zoopark in Næstved is a good bet!

There are animals for all tastes, but the white tiger, Elvis, is especially amazing!

Næstved Golfbane

In Næstved, there are also plenty of opportunities for exercise. If you are a golf enthusiast, you can visit Næstved Golf Course. Here you can enjoy a round of golf in lovely surroundings right down to Karrebæk Fjord.

Møns Klint

Take a fantastic trip to Møns Klint; one of Denmark's most beautiful places. Møns Klint consists of chalk deposits dating back to the end of the Cretaceous period, about 75 million years ago. Some places are up to a hundred metres above the water surface, so here you get a unique rush of Danish history and nature at its very best.
