Since 1844, Hotell Wassilioff in Stavern has kept its doors open to visitors. It all started with a Russian named Wassilioff, who fell in love with a Norwegian girl and settled in Stavern. The hotel quickly became a favourite with travellers of the time, earning three stars in the Norwegian Baedeker travel guide. Today the hotel looks new and modern, but the good history is well preserved in the interior design. With views of the Skagerrak and its close proximity to all the city's attractions, the hotel is in a great location.
The restaurant at the Hotel Wassilioff offers both an à la carte menu and other various dishes. A regular feature of the restaurant is a Sunday buffet on a white cloth, served every Sunday throughout the year. The hosts at the atmospheric piano bar serve classic cocktails for the late hours, and the hotel's own nightclub offers equally spontaneous experiences. The hotel also offers free wireless internet.
Hotel Wassilioff has 47 rooms with a total of 88 beds. The rooms are classically decorated in keeping with the hotel's history. They have a private bathroom with either a bathtub or a shower. All rooms have a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. If you want to spice up your romantic holiday, room service is available at an extra cost.
