The main building of Hotel Kong Carl was completed as early as 1690, and the hotel is today one of the oldest in Norway. As early as 1721, the owners ran a residence here with many guests arriving by sea, as the infrastructure on land was not as we know it today. Hotel Kong Carl is beautifully situated in Sandefjord. It is a prime example of National Romantic style with simple lines, built according to a solid tradition of craftsmanship and good materials. The hotel is a stone's throw from beaches and bathing areas.
