Dr. Holms Hotel

Dr. Holm's Hotel is worth a visit in itself, whether you're going on a ski holiday with a group of friends or planning a romantic getaway for two. This beautiful hotel is located at the top of Hallingdal, more specifically in Geilo by Bergensbanen. Check in here halfway between Bergen and Oslo.

About the hotel

This historic hotel first opened its doors in 1909, when Dr Ingebrigt Christian Holm saw the opportunity to offer his patients fresh Norwegian mountain air for treatment and recreation. Since then, many famous guests have visited the hotel and enjoyed the hospitality of Dr. Holm's Hotel. During his time, Knut Hamsun and Sonja Henie were among the regular guests, and many Norwegian ski heroes holiday here.

The hotel offers a bright and delicious spa of 1000 m2, with pool, jacuzzi (indoor and outdoor), Turkish steam bath and sauna. It is also home to the only Elemis spa in the Nordic countries. From the pool you have a view of the beautiful landscape outside. There's also a bowling alley at Dr. Holm's Hotel, a draw for many of the hotel's youngest guests.

The hotel's number one bar is probably the legendary "Skibaren" with afterski in winter and a cosy atmosphere the rest of the year.

The hotel's venerable "Dr. Holms Restaurant" is a great place to settle down for a long and cosy evening. Here you can enjoy dinner surrounded by art on the walls, which helps to create a great setting for an evening with good friends. Dr. Holm's Restaurant also serves breakfast and lunch.

Rooms

All rooms have a private bathroom with shower or bath. All rooms are equipped with cable TV, wireless network and refrigerator. The hotel was renovated in 2018.
