Skellefteå is located in the northern part of Sweden in Västerbotten County. More than 70,000 people live here, making Skellefteå the second largest city in the county. The city is sometimes called the "City of gold" because of its large mining industry. Skellefteå offers numerous sights and experiences, and long walks in the city are recommended. Skellefteå is ideal for shopping, the city centre has a fantastic shopping street with two malls and many unique shops. Also, don't miss a visit to one of the city's beauty salons or relaxing spas. You can also visit the city's tourist attractions and sights and get an insight into the city's culture and history. If you are interested in galleries and museums, there are many good options, for example the Skellefteå Art Museum is worth a visit. If you are travelling with children, visit the obstacle course at Vitberget. The county theatre, Västerbottensteatern, is also located in Skellefteå and offers excellent cultural experiences.
